Going the Distance to Better Our Community
To maintain their operations and continue helping our community, humanitarian organizations count on dependable donors for support — much in the same way marathon runners depend on continual energy boosts to keep going. That's why sponsoring Rock the Parkway, Burns & McDonnell's signature event, is the perfect way to keep Kansas City moving.
Each year, a portion of the proceeds is donated to a local charitable organization. The donation is typically used to promote health and wellness in the community, particularly focusing on children.
Thousands of runners from across the region descend on Ward Parkway, one of the most beautiful tree-lined routes in the country, for the half marathon or 5K race each spring. This fun, energizing event features a local band and food and sports vendors for all participants.
