 Leslie M. Duke, PE, leads the Burns & McDonnell regional office in Dallas-Fort Worth after a successful decade as associate vice president and regional Transmission & Distribution Group manager in the Houston office. With her Texas spirit and go get ‘em attitude, Duke helped the Burns & McDonnell Houston office advance into the powerhouse it is today. In her role as regional manager for the Transmission & Distribution Group in Houston, she grew clientele from an initial one, CenterPoint Energy, to more than 40 industrial, investor-owned utilities and electric cooperatives. In her role overseeing Houston office operations as associate vice president, she grew the office to 156 full-time employee-owners with a remarkably low attrition rate. As a registered professional engineer in Texas, Duke earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Texas Tech University, serves on the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce board of directors and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. |

 Scott Clark, PE, CEM, leads the national Burns & McDonnell OnSite Energy & Power Group from the Dallas-Fort Worth office. Clark has more than 25 years of experience in the energy field. He traces his interest in energy to one of his earliest projects — coordinating electrical demand of oil-pumping units using solar-powered controls, while he was still in college. That work fed his passion for all things mechanical, instilled in him at a young age by while restoring classic cars with his father. Clark's energy experience spans many industries, including higher education, healthcare, aviation and utility service providers. Clark's experience also includes utility master planning, central plant optimization, thermal energy storage, thermal distribution and project development. He has been involved in planning and designing many energy and power projects, including successful implementation of $150 million-plus master plans for such clients as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, The Texas Medical Center/Thermal Energy Corp., Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the University of Texas at Austin, and Texas A&M University. In 2007, he received the Energy Manager of the Year award from the Association of Energy Engineers-Region IV. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas and is a two-time member of the International District Energy Association board of directors. Clark received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University and has completed coursework toward an MBA in management at Texas Christian University.

 Tony Kimmey, PE, leads the Transportation Group in the Dallas-Fort Worth office of Burns & McDonnell. He has more than 25 years of experience managing the planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of transportation projects totaling more than $10 billion. However, Kimmey's ability to develop and maintain good relationships with clients and contractors sets him apart and allows for fluid execution of projects. Kimmey has planned and designed many major transportation projects in Texas — working with federal, state, regional and local agencies. After Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. acquired Carter & Burgess Inc., Kimmey was instrumental in combining the two infrastructure groups. He serves on the board of directors for the Dallas Chapter of the Council of Engineering Companies and was president of the organization in 2009. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers; National Society of Professional Engineers; International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association; and American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association. He received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.

Darwin Desen, PE, leads the Rail Transit Group in the Dallas-Fort Worth office of Burns & McDonnell. For more than 23 years, he has designed and/or managed railway projects nationwide for clients in the public and private sectors. His experience includes freight railroad main line and facilities design; commuter rail and light rail main line and facilities design; roadway and highway design; and general civil design such as paving, grading, drainage and utilities. He also has considerable construction administration and management experience including railroad yard and track improvements, railroad and roadway bridges, and highways and thoroughfares. Desen received a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver and is a registered professional engineer in Texas, Colorado, New York, Montana, Ohio, Tennessee, Utah and Washington.

 Anthony A. Bassak, AICP, GISP, is the regional Environmental Studies & Permitting manager for the Dallas-Fort Worth office. That often puts him in the minority in his professional dealings. His love of and expertise in environmental issues often means he takes playful ribbing from colleagues. Despite his "tree hugger" reputation, Bassak's ability to think analytically has helped him bridge the divide between preserving the environment and serving clients. Bassak is happiest when he can ensure a project complies with regulations while saving clients money. Bassak has experience in water resources planning, transportation planning, utility line routing, NEPA documentation, sustainability planning and greenhouse gas inventories. He has coordinated permitting efforts involving the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; the Texas Department of Transportation; commercial developers; and federal, state and local stakeholder agencies. Bassak earned his master's in environmental sciences and studies from the University of Idaho and his bachelor's in environmental geography from Southwest Texas State University. He holds certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a certified GIS professional. He is also a member of the American Planning Association Texas chapter and the Urban and Regional Information Systems group.
