Engineering firm shards decade of continuous, positive growth; Congressman Tom Price (R-Ga.) shares news from Washington.

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, is formalizing a plan to address overflows in its wastewater system after signing a consent decree. Burns & McDonnell assisted the Unified Government in negotiations and is serving as program manager.

Burns & McDonnell announced today that its office space at the Campus at Greenhill in Wallingford, Conn., has been awarded LEED® Gold. The LEED rating system is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

Burns & McDonnell has been named by PSMJ Resources, Inc., as one of eight architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) firms to receive the Premier Award for Client Satisfaction. Burns & McDonnell is the only firm in the Engineering News-Record's Top 100 design firms to earn the recognition.

Arnold Olender, vice president and regional manager of Burns & McDonnell's southeast regional office in Atlanta, celebrated his 10th anniversary at the helm. With clients and projects throughout the Southeast, Olender has overseen a decade of positive growth, enviable talent recruitment and retention, and increasing revenues.

Burns & McDonnell announced that it has promoted John Olander to serve as General Manager of its Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Division, replacing Walt Womack upon his retirement at year-end 2012. Womack will retire after 42 years with the company.

Burns & McDonnell will be unveiling an innovative new technology tool on Dec. 3 at the CityAge Conference in Kansas City, Mo., that is designed to help public sector authorities coordinate and manage all activities related to use, construction and maintenance of public rights-of-way and thoroughfares.

Construction is underway for a new wastewater-treatment system in southwestern Johnson County, Kan., a $16 million project designed to provide cost-effective service and enable growth in two communities while meeting demands of a massive new intermodal freight hub.
