County Government Energy Performance Contract

Burns & McDonnell performed an investment grade audit and implemented measures to provide projected annual savings of $1.4 million over a 15-year contract. The audit included detailed surveys of seven buildings totaling 1.4 million square feet, analysis and modeling of a comprehensive list of energy conservation measures and associated cost estimates. Implementation includes design, installation and performance verification for:
- New 1.25-MW combined heat and power facility
- Conversion of electrical service from secondary to primary
- New power quality system
- High efficiency lighting modifications
- Upgrade chillers with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Upgrade and optimize the existing energy management system
- New air handlers
- New VFDs and high efficiency motors on fans and pumps
- Convert air distribution system and air handlers to variable air volume (VAV)
- New high efficiency boilers
- New steam distribution system to optimize boiler performance
- New low flow plumbing systems in detention areas
- New water treatment systems on cooling towers and laundry for water conservation
