Development of Boschert Trail

Development of Boschert Trail

Location: St. Charles, Mo.

Client: Great Rivers Greenway District

Completion Date: In progress

Burns & McDonnell is developing plans for a hiking/biking trail between New Town Boulevard and Fox Hill Park in St. Charles, Mo., for the Great Rivers Greenway District. At one end, the trail will connect with the city trail system at New Town Boulevard and Mueller Road, and at the other end, the city’s Fox Hill Park trail system. This trail will be predominantly on the Boschert Creek levee and will provide a scenic view of New Town St. Charles to the north, a nature conservation area to the south and the surrounding land.

There are bike lanes on New Town Boulevard, which provides a connection to other trails in the vicinity. The trail will cross the outflow structure of a large detention basin using an ADA-accessible low water crossing. A pedestrian traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Boschertown Road and Fox Hill Road. The project includes paving, earthwork, drainage, permitting, park design, landscape architecture, traffic signal, striping and signage.
