Historic Properties Management Plan
Location: Lake Sharpe, S.D.
Burns & McDonnell provided a Historic Properties Management Plan (HPMP) for a client in South Dakota. This project consisted of a comprehensive review of existing prehistoric and historic cultural resource studies and documentation of known historic and prehistoric cultural resources.
- Inadvertent discovery of cultural resources
- Completion of the investigation of cultural resources
- Treatment of inadvertent and intentional discovery of human remains
- Treatment of National Register of Historic Places sites
- Consultation with interested parties
- Survey and investigation of lands not yet surveyed
The development of the HPMP required extensive coordination with the Omaha District Corps of Engineers; project office; South Dakota State Historic Preservation Offices; Advisory Council on Historic Preservation; American Indian tribes, particularly the Lower Brule Sioux and Crow Creek Sioux; and any other interested parties or ethic groups.
Included in the HPMP are descriptions and maps depicting land use, water levels, site location, surveyed areas, non-surveyed areas, developed tracts, roads and any other pertinent information.
