Maintenance Hangar, Control Tower & Taxiway

Maintenance Hangar
Project P-737 includes primary facilities for the construction of a new C-40 (737-700 militarized) Aircraft Maintenance Hangar (modified Type II - High Bay, with overhead maintenance bay interior clear height of 15.24 meters/50 feet), aircraft parts and seat storage facility, and administration/crew and equipment facilities.
Site work included the replacement of a portion of the existing aircraft parking apron, new security fence and gates, parking striping/renovations, as well as provisions for underground utilities, including connections to existing sewer, water, storm drain, industrial waste, gas, power, cable TV, CCTV, telephone, data, SIPRNET, NIPRNET, fire service and incidental related work.
Other site features included landscaping of low maintenance vegetation in planters with automatic sprinkler system. Design for the new facilities was in accordance with the Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings (UFC 4-010-01), with a "low" design basis threat and level of protection.

Air Traffic Control Tower and Taxiway
Project P-748 includes primary facilities for the construction of a new air traffic control tower (ATCT). Site work included the replacement of a portion of the existing taxiway with a new dual taxiway and parking apron, new security standoff area with protective bollards, parking striping/renovations, airfield lighting and signage as required by the station, as well as provisions for underground utilities, including connections for data transfer to/from the existing ATCT control building (Building 793) and connections to existing sewer, water, storm drain, gas, power, cable TV, CCTV, telephone, data, fire service and incidental related work.
Demolition work included demolition of the existing ATCT down to the third floor ceiling. This building will require a new roof at the third floor and revisions to the stairway and deletion of the elevator. Design for the new facilities shall be in accordance with Department of Defense Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings (UFC 4-010-01), with a “low” design basis threat and level of protection.
