Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital
Location: San Antonio
Client: Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital
Completion Date: 2002
The Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital is on the ground floor of a three-story medical office building. Serving primarily orthopedic patients, the hospital has eight operating rooms, nine in-patient beds and 16 long-term care beds. The design allows for the 16 long-term care beds to be converted to patient beds with no construction.
The total project scope involved design of the three-story shell building, the hospital and all physician spaces in the building. These spaces included an imaging center, physical therapy suite and a bio-mechanics laboratory. The bio-mechanics lab was designed to study body mechanics using a combination of video cameras and force planes mounted in the floor. Project completed by Rick Keeler while with another firm, prior to joining Burns & McDonnell.
