Short Term Access Route for Peabody Energy
Client: Prairie State Energy Company
Completion Date: Undetermined
Burns & McDonnell was hired by Prairie State Energy Company (PSGC) to design a short-term access route from Illinois Route 4 to the future Prairie State Energy Campus location in Marissa. This route will provide primary access to the future mine and plant throughout construction and is designed to carry the heavy construction vehicles.
Burns & McDonnell prepared plans, specifications and estimates for improvements to County Highway 57 from IL 4 to Washington County Line Road and County Highway 12 from County Highway 10 to future plant entrance in Washington County.
This project involved coordination with and approval from the Illinois Department of Transportation, Washington County and St. Clair County. Burns & McDonnell coordinated utility relocations with Tri-County Electric, Ameren Electric, Egyptian Telephone, Washington County Water and Verizon Telephone; mitigated public issues and concerns; maintained updated project schedule; prepared monthly progress reports; and presented progress to PSGC at monthly meetings.
