South Tri-State Tollway Reconstruction and Widening

Burns & McDonnell teamed with McDonough Associates to provide both construction management and resident engineering for roadway and bridge widening, interchange and ramp modifications and the addition of one mainline traffic lane in each direction on the South Tri-State. This $140 million project extended from mile post 0 to mile post 3.6 in Cook County and included eight mainline bridges and five crossroad bridges. The construction management portion of the project involved coordinating three projects extending from mile post 0 to mile post 5.3 crossing the Markham Yard Bridge and toll plaza reconstruction. These three related construction management projects are valued at $280 million.
