Stormwater System Master Plan
Location: Columbia, Mo.
Client: City of Columbia, Mo.
Burns & McDonnell used geographic information system (GIS) tools to facilitate information management in support of the City of Columbia, Mo., stormwater management master plan.
A project database was designed to centrally house and secure information necessary for project completion. Necessary spatial data was located and converted for use. Arc/Info was used to create additional information using spatial analysis.
This project information management system provided an efficient feedstock of tabular and graphic information for HEC 2 modeling, and spreadsheet and map generation. Deliverable quality was improved by focusing on the integrity of information within the one central data repository.
