Burns & McDonnell provided structural and electrical engineering services for a 230-kV CT switchyard, a 230-kV breaker-and-half bay addition at the Corbett Substation, and several 230-kV and 138-kV breaker replacement projects at various substations.
These projects were part of the capital improvement projects for Florida Power & Light due to the addition of the West County #1 230-kV Switchyard Addition Project, which was engineered by the Atlanta office of Burns & McDonnell.
- Engineering design
- Four breaker collector bus for new generating plant
- Add new 230-kV breaker-and-half bay
- Rebuild 230-kV bay from 2000A to 3000A
- Replace several oil and gas 230/138-kV circuit breakers
