Veterans Memorial Bridge

The new 4,300-foot Veterans Memorial Bridge in South Omaha, Neb., replaces a narrow and structurally deficient bridge built in 1936. The river span is a 625-foot truss to accommodate the 590-foot clear navigation span required by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Harrington & Cortelyou, as a subconsultant to TranSystems Corp., provided design services truss span, river piers and 16 approach piers. The bridge deck is more than 87 feet wide.
