Burns & McDonnell was selected to provide detailed physical design for the construction of a 230-26-kV substation. The substation consisted of a four-breaker ring bus on the 230-kV side and two main and two transfer radial buses on the 26-kV side. The ring bus connected to two incoming transmission lines and two 230-27-kV, 30/40/50 MVA transformers. Each main and transfer bus pair connected to three 26-kV feeders.
The physical design consisted of a single line diagram, site plans and details, electrical plans, sections and details, foundation plan and details, grounding plan and details, conduit plans and details, lighting plan, string bus plan, control house plans, sections and details and station service and yard panels. Grounding, lighting, lightning and rigid bus calculations based on the corresponding standards and specifications were performed to support the designs.
