Director of Bridges
Harrington & Cortelyou
Harrington & Cortelyou bridges span the country, Virginia to California, Mississippi to Montana, with a portfolio that includes highway, railroad and city/county bridges. In the more than 80 years since bridge engineer John L. Harrington combined his decades of experience with those of Frank M. Cortelyou Sr., the name Harrington & Cortelyou has remained synonymous with quality — and ability to solve the most difficult challenges.
In 2010, H&C's credentials were combined with those of Burns & McDonnell, creating an integrated team with deeper capabilities, resources and geographic reach, able to take on complex design-build projects as well as complex bridge design nationwide.
Together, we epitomize the highest values of consulting engineering. We faithfully represent client interests with designs that provide the most reliable solution to a civil engineering problem at the most reasonable cost. Thoroughness and accuracy have been — and continue to be — hallmarks.
Into the Future
Many Harrington & Cortelyou bridges are historically significant, with design that has stood the test of time. Our experience in bridge design and engineering uniquely qualifies us to design, build, inspect, maintain and upgrade all types of fixed and movable bridges as traffic patterns and technology change.
