KANSAS CITY, MO — Burns & McDonnell has been named by PSMJ Resources, Inc., as one of eight architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) firms nationwide to receive the Premier Award for Client Satisfaction. Burns & McDonnell was one of only three repeat winners and also won top honors in the categories of Most Responsive and Best at Managing Budgets. Burns & McDonnell was the only firm to earn top rankings in two categories.
"This recognition is especially meaningful because it is based on the two attributes we value most highly in working daily with our clients; our ability to respond quickly and our diligence in managing client budgets," said Greg Graves, chairman, president and CEO of Burns & McDonnell. "We have more than 3,200 employee owners focused on client service, and it is gratifying to be recognized by our clients for this priority."
A/E/C firms from the U.S. and Canada were judged in surveys that asked clients to rate performance in these seven categories: Helpfulness; Overall Value; Responsiveness; Budget Management; Quality; Accuracy; and Managing Schedules.
In its second year, the PSMJ Premier Awards competition attracted firms from throughout the U.S. and Canada ranging in size from 15 to 3,000 employees. Winners were selected based on the quality of feedback received and the quantity of replies. Feedback quality was measured by score as well as by consistency and the ability to avoid abnormally low scores. The average evaluation of the winning firms centered in the range of "exceeded expectations." In fact, none of the eight firms who won awards received a single score below "acceptable."
PSMJ is a professional consulting organization based in Newton, Mass., offering a range of support, training and educational services to thousands of engineering, architecture and construction firms nationwide.
