CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Burns & McDonnell celebrates the expansion and renovation of its office in Coral Gables’ historic Amtrust Bank building — at the corner of Ponce De Leon Boulevard and Almeria Avenue — with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Friday, April 4, 2008.
Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick II, whose office also occupies the Amtrust Bank Building, will perform the ribbon-cutting before the open house.
Burns & McDonnell’s regional office provides professional architecture, engineering, construction and program management services to a diversified client base.
“We’re serving municipal, national, and international clients in Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean,” says manager James Kanter. Florida Transportation Magazine ranked Burns & McDonnell fifth in the state in transportation planning. “The expansion allows us to better continue serving our clients,” Kanter says. “Our goal is to make every one of our clients successful.”
The new office space was designed with environmental sustainability in mind. Burns & McDonnell has more than 60 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) accredited professionals. The renovation yielded a net 5,000 square feet of additional space for the fast-growing Florida office. In support of the company’s sustainability culture, many of the materials used for the renovation have recyclable content or were reused.
