The integration of life safety, fire suppression, fire alarm and other passive fire protection systems into the design of all types of buildings is critical for occupant safety, asset protection and code compliance.
We can help you evaluate your needs and tailor a solution to your project's unique risks and characteristics.
Complex Integration of Fire Protection Systems and Facilities
Bringing these complex systems into your design affects many design features and processes: life safety, passive fire protection, water supply infrastructure, fire suppression, performance-based design, fire department access and response, hazard analysis, smoke management, fire alarms, and occupant egress.
Codes governing facility design can change based on your location, facility type and other factors. Our team can perform code consulting services to help you determine the codes that apply and what design techniques will provide a solution that combines effective fire protection with cost-efficiency.
We understand the International Building Code (IBC), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101 Life Safety Code and their applications by municipalities and jurisdictions worldwide. Our code consultants maintain current certifications and are up to date on code revisions, including recent changes related to fire barriers, smoke partitions and vertical floor openings.
Full Spectrum of Fire Protection Services
Our consolidated approach to fire protection includes both life safety and asset protection. Whether you need a basic evaluation of an existing system, system commissioning, new system design or computer-based modeling and analysis, our team can help you create an environment for occupants and assets that is reasonably safe, code-compliant and cost-effective.
Depth of Experience
Our fire protection team members focus solely on fire protection engineering, providing services to a wide range of federal, health care, industrial, institutional and commercial clients. Combined, they have 229 years of experience, and we have provided fire suppression systems for facility projects since the 1940s.
Eleven of our fire protection engineers are registered professional engineers and have passed the NCEES written examination in Fire Protection Engineering. Two of our fire protection engineers are past National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) committee members.
Our team includes members with fire protection experience in contracting, installing, insurance, fire-fighting and serving as an Authority Having Jurisdiction.
