Matt has a bright future — pun intended. He’s spent the better part of the past decade establishing the Phoenix office as a leader in utility consulting and solar energy projects. Along the way, he’s worked with clients including Tesla and Sempra Energy. Not bad for a farm kid whose high-school aptitude testing suggested he avoid engineering.
I can talk to recruits about the ESOP until I’m blue in the face. But what really sells it, often, is the fact that other people have been-there, done-that (at other firms), and this is the best place they’ve ever been.
Growing up on a farm, Matt did his fair share of heavy labor — baling hay, harvesting corn and feeding the sheep. He also got pretty good fixing things, including that one stressful time when the tractor stalled on the train tracks.
