Closing documents signed on June 30.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Burns & McDonnell has completed its acquisition of the assets of Harrington & Cortelyou, Inc., with signing of closing documents on June 30. Harrington & Cortelyou (H&C) will continue to operate as a wholly owned Burns & McDonnell company specializing in engineering design of fixed and movable highway and railway bridges. Twelve former H&C staff members are now Burns & McDonnell employee-owners and will continue to work from offices at 911 Main St. in downtown Kansas City.

H&C has provided engineering and construction management services since 1907. The firm has designed and supervised construction of more than 800 bridges in Missouri alone, including several major bridge improvements in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

It will continue its major business focus on long-span and moveable bridges for vehicles and railways for states, counties and cities. Ancillary support services such as inspections, routing, environmental studies and master planning will continue to be offered.
