KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kerrie Greenfelder, PE, BCEE, has joined the Burns & McDonnell Water division as a project manager at the firm's world headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. Greenfelder is a chemical engineer with advanced design-build experience in water, wastewater treatment processing and landfill projects. Greenfelder spent the last 15 years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she managed nearly 75 projects, delivering each on or under budget.
The Society of Women Engineers recently recognized Greenfelder with the 2015 Emerging Leader award, honoring individuals who have been actively engaged in the engineering profession and have demonstrated outstanding technical excellence while producing significant accomplishments.
"Kerrie offers extreme value to our clients, because she not only has experience on an exceptionally broad range of water projects, but she has also taken on some very specialized initiatives," says Ron Coker, senior vice president at Burns & McDonnell. "For instance, Kerrie has worked with tribes in the Southwest on some innovative projects that provided access to safe and clean drinking water for their communities."
Since her start at Burns & McDonnell, Greenfelder has been involved as a project manager for the service area and pump station evaluations as part of a large metropolitan wastewater master plan project. Next she will serve as the project design manager for a $3 million wastewater facility design-build project in Kansas and as the project manager for a water reuse project for two Native American nations in Oklahoma.
Kerrie has a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas and is a member of the American Water Works Association, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers.
