“With more than 25 years of experience leading healthcare projects nationwide, Chris is a game-changing addition to our team,” says Mike Fenske, senior vice president, Global Facilities Group, Burns & McDonnell. “Having worked in Nashville for the entirety of his career, Chris is highly respected across the region and throughout the healthcare industry. His robust industry experience, natural leadership abilities and innovative vision are tremendous assets to strengthening our healthcare team and service offerings in the region.”

Prior to joining Burns & McDonnell, Powers served for more than a decade as director of design for a major international healthcare system. “I couldn’t be more excited to lead our firm’s rapidly growing healthcare efforts in Nashville and across the Southeast,” Powers says. “The consistent implementation of advancing technologies and groundbreaking research findings make healthcare one of the most rapidly evolving and exciting markets in the U.S.”

Powers serves on the board for the Nashville Civic Design Center and is a member of the editorial board for Healthcare Design magazine. He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Mississippi State University.

Since opening its Chattanooga office more than a decade ago, Burns & McDonnell has supported more than 1,000 projects across the state.
