District Energy

District energy systems are a growing solution for campuses and campus-sized operations. They provide advantages in fuel flexibility, efficiency, reliability and capital costs. Our OnSite Energy & Power team focuses on campus-level environments, offering complete analysis, design and construction services for every type of district energy project.

Our work, including delivery of some of the largest and most complex projects of this type, encompasses master planning, central utility plants, thermal distribution, grid interconnection, demand-side energy savings, regulatory compliance strategies. We provide integrated design-build delivery, with a focus on constructability and seamless integration. We also handle commissioning, startup, and operations and maintenance tasks.

District energy systems enable you to implement solutions like thermal energy storage, which can shift production of heating and cooling energy to off hours, when rates are lower, reducing your demand when rates are high.

Our team will work with you to design the district energy system that meets your needs, whether you are starting from a greenfield site or looking to upgrade, retrofit or expand existing capacity.
