Burns & McDonnell won its second national Grand Conceptor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

Burns & McDonnell won its second national Grand Conceptor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) in April, in recognition of its work on the Wacker Drive Reconstruction project in Chicago, a $300 million-plus project. The Grand Conceptor Award is the highest honor in ACEC's Engineering Excellence Awards program.

Burns & McDonnell provided construction management services for the final stage of the Revive Wacker Drive program for the city of Chicago's Department of Transportation, as a major two-level thoroughfare was completely renovated. Work involved main-line demolition and full reconstruction of the viaduct bridge structure. The project also won an Honor Award from the ACEC Illinois chapter.

Burns & McDonnell previously won a national Grand Conceptor Award for its work in the Florida Everglades.
