- Battery Energy Storage Systems
Our team is providing engineer-procure-construct (EPC) services for three 10-megawatt (MW)/20-MWh lithium-ion standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS). The owner is providing LG Chem battery racks and JH3 and JH4 modules. Our direct-hire construction subsidiary, Ref-Chem, will install the batteries.
Containers will be shipped to the site with empty racks prewired to direct current (DC) combiner panels and alternating current (AC) auxiliary panels. The modules will be installed after the containers are in place on site foundations.
The HVAC design includes DX cooling units for the building and the face of the battery racks. Our computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model confirms the air flow and temperature distribution. We also are providing a fire detection and suppression system and a water tie-in for each battery rack.
Upon completion, the batteries will store up to 10 MW of electricity for two hours.
