- Bee Creek Wastewater Collection System
Burns & McDonnell provided planning and design services for the Bee Creek Wastewater Collection System serving the 4,000-acre Bee Creek watershed just north of Branson, Mo. Planning services included a facility plan, which considered collection and treatment alternatives.
The recommended plan includes gravity collector sewers serving existing neighborhoods and commercial development, and four lift stations, force mains and gravity interceptor sewers to convey wastewater to the low end of the watershed. The collected wastewater is to be pumped by a 5-million-gallon-per-day (MGD) initial capacity pumping station expandable to 11 MGD through a new force main to the City of Branson Compton Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project scope includes approximately 180,000 feet of gravity sewers and force mains ranging in size from 4 inches to 24 inches, and four submersible lift stations. The regional pumping station includes variable speed drivers for the submersible pumps, a standby power generator and an activated carbon odor control system.
The project is to be funded through the Missouri State Revolving Fund (SRF) low interest loan program. Burns & McDonnell provided services in support of the SRF program, including public hearings, user charge analysis, and environmental studies and permitting (cultural resources, wetlands, and threatened and endangered species habitat).
