The client desired to build and operate an integrated biodiesel and ethanol plant to attract industry and provide jobs in the community. Burns & McDonnell developed conceptual and definitive design as well as the associated cost estimates to acquire equity and debt financing required to build the proposed plant.
Burns & McDonnell provided all studies, engineering and cost estimating documentation for financial institutions and equity investors to provide the necessary capital to build the plant. The project team performed all engineering services in accordance with Construction Industry Institute and Process Industry Best Practice guidelines.
Burns & McDonnell conducted extensive technology evaluations to ensure that the plant could produce biodiesel from a variety of feedstocks. As the project progressed, the team provided additional environmental, archaeological and permitting services to advance the project.
