- Boiler Replacement - Kansas City, Kan.
Procter & Gamble needed to replace its existing aged boilers at its Kansas City, Kan., manufacturing facility. The new boilers were located in a vacated area and tied into the existing steam and condensate header systems. Both included two 70,000 pound/hour, 150 psig boilers. One was fired with natural gas and the other boiler was dual fuel, natural gas with fuel oil back-up. In addition, a 200 BHP, 600 psig boiler was also installed for process steam needs.
Burns & McDonnell developed layouts, pipe routing, building specifications, foundation design, electrical design and tie-in requirements. Burns & McDonnell purchased all equipment on the project and also managed and subcontracted the construction of the new facility.
Burns & McDonnell completed commissioning, startup and training for the new boilers.
