- Callaway Unit 2 COLA
Burns & McDonnell provided professional services to support AmerenUE and Rizzo Associates with preparation of the combined construction and operating license application (COLA) for the 1,600-megawatt (MW) Callaway Unit 2. Rizzo Associates was responsible for project planning, budgeting, scheduling, staff management, overall project direction for the COLA, and the environmental report. Burns & McDonnell’s responsibilities included coordination of preliminary design and technical efforts required to support the COLA.

AmerenUE, an operating company of Ameren Corp., based in St. Louis, is an investor-owned utility serving customers in eastern Missouri. AmerenUE provides electric and natural gas services to more than 1 million customers. AmerenUE operates nine power plants in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois.
Burns & McDonnell's primary responsibilities for Callaway Unit 2 included coordination of preliminary design and technical efforts required to support the COLA. These efforts included the development of the site plan and site characteristics, water supply evaluation and conceptual design, electrical interconnection, and circulating water systems. Additional responsibilities included other Unit 2 project development activities, including design of a new access road and preliminary design of a new warehouse.
