A world leader in the design and manufacture of integrated circuits, Maxim sought to transform its campus and office buildings into a showplace for clients and employees alike. Interior spaces of four buildings were designed to maximize employee collaboration. A mix of gathering spaces — including formal conference rooms, soft-seating “huddle” rooms and two- and three-person areas — foster innovation and communication. Large glass expanses allow natural light to filter deep into the office space.
Outside, a new landscape plan uses space from two demolished buildings to create a courtyard that echoes one at the corporate headquarters in California. The site features an outdoor fitness area, jogging trail, and dining and entertaining spaces. The varied existing exterior finishes were unified with the use of elegant, concrete fibrous panels applied to the substrates.
