DISA Global Operations Command Facility - Scott AFB

Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Louisville District, for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)
Completion Date: 2016
Location: Scott AFB, Illinois

The Defense Information Systems Agency Global Operations Command Facility (DISA Global Ops) consolidates the seven functioning divisions of DISA Continental United States (CONUS) into a modern and flexible facility, enhancing its mission to provision, engineer and operate enterprise infrastructure to joint warfighters and national leaders. Flexibility to support mission changes and improving technologies is accommodated through open-space design concepts and the use of raised-access flooring, demountable partitions and modular workstations. A 24/7/365 operations center and data center are in a 41,000-square-foot sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF), and the facility includes more than 20,000 square feet of additional sensitive compartmented spaces accredited in accordance with ICD 705.1. Development of the 20-acre site included new access roads, parking for 650 vehicles, new utilities and communications infrastructure, low impact development (LID) stormwater management concepts and landscaping. Structural engineering considerations included concrete foundations and structural steel framing, as well as multidisciplinary compliance with antiterrorism standards. The operations center and adjacent spaces are hardened against the effects of a tornado in accordance with industry guidance to permit continuous occupancy during storms.
