- Distribution Secondary Network System
Our team completed a grid modernization study focused on an urban secondary network system that serves a large central business district. Urban secondary network systems are designed to serve dense urban central business districts and present unique challenges to utility managers.
Aging infrastructure and high construction and maintenance costs, combined with the loss of key staff, left this utility with a wide gap in experience necessary to operate and maintain this network.
Our specialized team provided rigorous management and technical consulting services based on our established methodology. Our approach included fact finding, asset condition assessment, evaluation, and benchmarking of practices and processes pertaining to network systems. Our work involved interviews, workshops, field inspections and analysis of key functional areas, including planning, design, engineering, construction, operations, maintenance and safety.
The engagement delivered data-driven, fact-based results in the form of a grid modernization investment plan. This plan enabled the utility to move forward with the confidence that comes from appropriate analytical rigor and due diligence.
