Emirates Engine Maintenance Facility

Client: General Electric International
Completion Date: 2015
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

GE Aviation provided Emirates with the design and construction of a new engine overhaul shop in Dubai. The facility is used for engine module change, module disassembly/assembly, cleaning, inspection and material stores. Outside repair activities, less minor benching operations, are used for parts repair.

We were responsible for the architectural design, engineering, project management and construction management to GE and Emirates for the project. The 22,000-square-meter facility, adjacent to Emirates’ test cell facility that we designed, has the capacity to perform 300 engine repairs per year on GE90 and GP7200 engines that power Emirates’ Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, respectively.
