- Engineering Services for Development of Project Planning & Definition
We provided program management resources for the development of yearly and five-year project planning for OG&E's generation fleet. All defined projects for each plant were evaluated, then scope, schedule and total installed estimated budgets were established for more than 100 plant projects.
We provided engineering services for the capital project budget development process, which allowed us to act as an extension of the utility’s power supply engineering corporate and plant staff on projects at the utility’s fleet of coal- and gas-fired generation plants. The contract has been successful in providing the plants with quality and timely deliverables of proposed capital project scope, schedule and cost estimate. The information is used to submit and compete for needed capital funds to maintain safety, reliability and uptime of their generating units. Our team assists the plants in developing and maintaining a five-year long-range capital budget forecast that prioritizes needs and aligns projects with planned fleet outages. We provide project execution, project controls, construction support, startup/commissioning services and closeout for approved capital projects.
The engineering services cover proposed project identification, scope development, review of feasible alternatives, preliminary design, and identification of economic drivers for proposed projects. Project team members work with corporate and plant engineering staff, operations, maintenance, safety and environmental leads to identify plant system issues, and develop budget forecasts for long-term budget cycles. Proposed projects are developed including scope, schedule, budget based on risk identification, economic justification, environmental, safety, reliability and regulatory requirements and implications.
