- EV Charging Station Study
We assisted the City of Omaha, Nebraska, with its first-ever electric vehicle (EV) charging station siting program. The project included coordinating with Omaha Public Power District to visit 15 locations the city identified as preferred sites for future EV charging stations in downtown Omaha. The firm provided conceptual design for installation of new utility service at the sites, developed an estimated construction cost, and provide a final ranking according to cost, complexity and urban planning factors.
Our team provided schematic designs for 12 EV charging stations throughout Omaha to help meet the future demand. Because federal funding was used, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process was followed and a CE1 obtained. The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) let the project, therefore all design information was transferred to NDOT bid forms. The EV stations are currently under construction.
