- Industrial Chemical from Renewable Feedstock
Our team developed a schedule A package for a process to create an industrial chemical from a renewable feedstock. The schedule A package was for a commercial-scale facility to produce the final product using a fermentation and distillation purification process.
Our services included developing the process flow diagrams (PFDs) and heat and material balances for the facility. Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) were drawn using SmartPlant to facilitate the creation of the line and instrument lists. Equipment was sized and preliminary data sheets were created along with equipment layout drawings. Utility requirements were defined for steam, cooling water, chilled water and instrument air. A cost estimate was also performed for the distillation section of the process. The schedule A package was customized to incorporate the end user’s standards to minimize rework in subsequent phases of the project.
