- Jane Addams Memorial Tollway West Corridor Reconstruction
We were the corridor construction manager (CCM) for the reconstruction and widening of the western portion of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) from I-39 to Route 25. The Illinois Tollway divided this 39-mile corridor into more than 40 individual construction contracts to be reconstructed in a three-year period.
The scope of services included construction and design management, utility relocation coordination, schedule and budget monitoring for each project, coordination of adjoining construction projects with respect to staging and schedule, and investigation and resolution of field-related construction and design issues.
We also were the construction manager of 8 miles of the corridor. The limits are from the Elgin Toll Plaza to Illinois Route 47. In total, we directly managed four mainline contracts and four cross-street bridge contracts and oversaw 51 miles of paved lanes and eight bridges. Our team's duties included daily site inspection and coordination with the contractor, Tollway and municipalities, as well as tracking of quantities, schedule oversight and full Tollway documentation procedures and tracking in Proliance and E-Builder.
