As the prime contractor, Burns & McDonnell provided integrated design-build services for a new air traffic control tower (ATCT), a new parallel taxiway and the renovation of an existing taxiway. The new 150-foot ATCT includes five intermediate floors and the main cab. Intermediate floors provide building utilities, training room, ATCT equipment room and a ready room. Building electrical systems provide severable electrical systems, separating mission-essential functions from non-essential requirements. Mechanical systems were designed for compliance with strict requirements of California Title 24.
