- Parallel Taxiway Overlay and Widening
Burns & McDonnell provided design for widening portions of the parallel taxiway from a nonstandard 30 feet to 35 feet. Services also included fly ash stabilization of the northern 1,500 feet of the parallel taxiway and modification of nonstandard connector taxiway fillet radii to meet standards. The design also included placement of a 6-inch portland cement concrete overlay designed for 25,000-pound aircraft (single wheel gear). Additional construction activities included pavement removal, installation of a new underdrain system, earthwork and placement of new taxiway pavement markings. This project was phased to minimize any disturbance to local aircraft operations.
