Burns & McDonnell is providing design for the multi-year phased beddown of Predator aircraft. Services provided include:
Design of two hangars, support shops and offices joined with a common wall and constructed separately through two fiscal years. Total space will be about 76,000 square feet, and all electrical, mechanical and fire protection design is included. Site work includes aircraft pavements, parking lots and supporting utilities.
Design charrettes for a 12,000-square-foot armament facility; an 8,000-square-foot training hangar for a single MQ-9 aircraft and two MQ-1 aircraft; and a 28,000-square-foot fuel cell maintenance hangar to support fuel cell repair and maintenance for two MQ-9 aircraft with the flexibility to also enclose and support three F-22 aircraft. The facility will also include administrative and support space, overhead low-level high-expansion foam system fire protection and an overhead pre-action wet-pipe system. Evaporative cooling will be included to handle extreme summer temperatures. Site work will include aircraft pavement, site utilities and vehicle parking and roadways. Contract negotiations for all three projects are under way.
Planning and programming documents; physical surveys, reports and permits, drawings using A/E/C/CADD standards; UFGS standard specifications in SPECSINTACT format; force protection design; and construction cost estimates using MCACES software.
