- Wind Loading Analysis
Our team provided professional services for the review and evaluation of increase wind load on existing structure due to a proposed wind curtain.
Prairie State has experienced issues with cooling tower mist icing on forced draft and primary fan inlet screens during the winter. It was considering options for installing wind curtains to the existing ductwork structural steel; we analyzed the existing structure to determine if modifications to the existing structure would be necessary to accommodate the increased wind loads. The steel structure was modelled using RISA. The results of the analysis were that minor reinforcement of some beams would be required to accommodate the heaviest loads.
