- World Headquarters Renovations
Burns & McDonnell provided complete AEC services as it renovated 217,000 square feet of new office and conference space; 40,000 square feet for a new cafe, fitness center and health center; and upgraded 225,000 square feet of existing office and conference space in our own corporate headquarters. Spaces were designed to provide natural daylight and accommodate quick teaming and collaboration needs with access to a variety of technology tools. The new auditorium seats 450 people and is designed for presentations and social functions. It features three independent screens for multimedia presentations, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a pre-function area for large groups. The landscaping for the “park like” campus was redesigned to include native planting and grasses to minimize the need for watering and showcase the natural beauty of the Midwest.
This project achieved LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, for existing buildings operations and maintenance as well as the 2013 Capstone Award from the Kansas City Business Journal.
