Pablo Lorenzo believes that leadership is about service: supporting employee-owners, clients and communities.
That belief has guided him throughout his career and continues to shape his client-first approach today.
He serves as vice president and general manager of the firm’s California region. It’s a role that allows him to champion employee-owners, foster strong client relationships and help deliver the critical infrastructure that supports communities throughout California and beyond.
In the community:
Pablo is committed to strengthening the communities where Burns & McDonnell lives and works. He supports the Burns & McDonnell Charity of Choice program, participates in the firm's United Way campaign and encourages employee-owner involvement in volunteer initiatives throughout the region. He is especially passionate about helping inspire the next generation of problem-solvers, supporting STEM education, mentorship opportunities and programs that help students explore future career paths. He also values opportunities to give back through local beach cleanups, often participating alongside his wife and two daughters.
What inspires you about your career?
My career has given me the opportunity to work alongside talented people, solve complex challenges and help clients achieve their goals. Having earned my engineering degree in Venezuela before continuing my career in Southern California, I've gained an appreciation for different perspectives and the value of continuous learning. Those experiences continue to shape how I approach leadership, client service and developing the next generation of professionals.
How do you and your team make the world a better place?
We help create the facilities and systems people rely on every day. Whether it's supporting airports, manufacturing operations, energy systems or federal facilities, our work helps clients improve performance, prepare for future growth and meet the needs of the communities they serve.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
Family comes first. My wife and two daughters keep me busy, and we spend as much time outdoors as possible. Whether we're surfing, playing soccer or enjoying a day at the beach, I value the opportunity to unplug, stay active and spend quality time together.
