KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Kerrie Greenfelder, PE, has been promoted to Manager of Engineering within the Water Group at Burns & McDonnell.

Within this role Greenfelder will connect engineering sections for each of our four operating teams (Industrial, Municipal, Systems and Program) within the group. By creating a defined career progression up through engineering, Greenfelder will define how Burns & McDonnell employee-owners will develop and progress their technical development. Greenfelder will focus on recruiting and developing new talent, serving as executive sponsor for our new professionals’ group within water and expanding our technical service offering.

Most recently Greenfelder served as Municipal Water Department Manager leading a team of 50 in managing projects from small to large water/wastewater treatment processing, the removal of arsenic from groundwater for drinking water supplies, landfill design/construction and groundwater/soil remediation. Her clients include municipal, public, industrial, federal and design-build clients.

Greenfelder’s commitment to the engineers she works with is also displayed in her volunteer work. She has held multiple positions within Society of Women Engineers and Kansas Society of Professional Engineers. Greenfelder is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in Illinois, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas and Missouri. She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas.
