AMARILLO, Texas — To support local clients and expand service offerings across West Texas and New Mexico, Burns & McDonnell has expanded operations with a new office in Amarillo, Texas. The 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting firm commemorated the new location with a ribbon-cutting and open house with the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and local partners, clients and leadership in attendance.

The firm’s new 2,600-square-foot office space, located in the FirstBank Southwest Tower at 600 S. Tyler St., Suite 800, is focused on designing and constructing specialized facility and infrastructure projects across the federal, commercial, power, oil and gas, and transportation sectors. The firm recognized the need for a location in Amarillo as several new critical infrastructure projects arose within the area, including the High Explosive Science and Engineering Facility, located at the Pantex Plant.

“We are pleased to welcome Burns & McDonnell to the Amarillo business community, and look forward to their continued efforts to grow our local community, bringing jobs and new infrastructure,” said Jason Harrison, president & CEO, Amarillo Chamber of Commerce.

Backed by a nationwide network of more than 7,600 professionals, the Amarillo team will support a full range of planning, design, construction, fabrication, environmental remediation and commissioning services. Focused on building relations with the Amarillo community, the firm will be adding to its team through recruitment efforts at local universities including Amarillo College, West Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

“Burns & McDonnell is proud to have a presence in Amarillo to support our clients and partners in West Texas and bring jobs to the surrounding community,” said Jason Draper, a project manager at Burns & McDonnell and leader of the Amarillo office. “We look forward to growing our team to strengthen our service offerings as we continue to deliver state-of-the-art critical infrastructure facilities and solutions.”

Burns & McDonnell ranks #9 among the top 500 design firms in the U.S., according to Engineering News-Record, and ranks as #3 in Government Sector Engineering in Building Design + Construction’s Giants 300.
