Burns & McDonnell, a 100% employee-owned engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting firm, has promoted Dave Barr to lead its Aviation & Federal Group, which delivers essential facility and infrastructure projects for commercial aviation as well as federal and military agencies across the U.S. and internationally. Barr succeeds longtime leader Joel DeBoer, who will now serve in an enterprise role with a focus on advancing firmwide strategic initiatives that support continued growth and organizational excellence.

Since joining the firm in 2010, Barr has played a pivotal role in shaping and expanding the firm’s federal business, including programs for the Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Defense (DOD), while strengthening client relationships and advancing strategic initiatives. Most recently, he served as senior vice president, providing executive leadership across both aviation and federal markets.
