KANSAS CITY, Missouri — To advance worldwide design and construction missions across multiple branches of the U.S. armed forces, Burns & McDonnell was selected as an awardee of the U.S. Air Force’s AE Next contract.

The multiple-awardee contract, worth up to $2 billion, spans five years with an additional five-year option period. Firms awarded will be assigned tasks directly from the Air Force Civil Engineer Center and other military customers, with Burns & McDonnell selected to perform cross-discipline work across Pool 1 and Pool 4 of the contract. Under this unique contract, the firm can be called to deliver projects needed by the U.S. armed forces at any time during the contract’s period, anywhere around the world.

Projects from Pool 1 will span airfield infrastructure, including runways, helipads, taxiways, aprons, communications infrastructure, airfield lighting and other associated assets. Pool 4 projects will encompass facilities of any type, such as hangars and maintenance facilities, and general infrastructure, including water treatment, stormwater systems, high-voltage electrical distribution, heating and cooling plants, and other necessary infrastructure.

“Burns & McDonnell is looking forward to continuing to support our military clients by executing projects under the AE Next vehicle,” says Dave Barr, leader of the Federal Group and a vice president at Burns & McDonnell. “Our multidisciplined teams and extensive work worldwide with the various branches of the U.S. military position us well for delivering projects under this new contract.”
