ST. LOUIS, Missouri (Jan. 9, 2018) — Burns & McDonnell has expanded its Construction/Design-Build team with the addition of Chad Cotter, a professional experienced in the full range of services needed to envision, engineer and execute major projects for power generation, utilities, industrial and manufacturing facilities, refining, chemical process, aviation, and water treatment facilities.
Cotter is regional global practice manager in the St. Louis office of Burns & McDonnell, where he works with clients in the Midwest and across the country. He brings two decades of experience delivering projects for the diverse spectrum of clients and markets Burns & McDonnell serves, both from the design and construction sides.
“We are excited to have Chad join our team,” says Breck Washam, vice president for Burns & McDonnell in St. Louis. “He knows what our clients both need and expect, because he’s been there — whether it’s putting together plans for construction or actually being out in the field seeing that the plans are properly put into practice. He’s all about constructability, seeing that the client’s needs can be and are met.”
Cotter leads a team of design and construction professionals in St. Louis, where he has lived and worked for his entire life. He is a professional engineer in Illinois, and long has been involved in leadership in construction organizations; he’s on the board of directors, for example, for the Association for Union Contractors, a trade organization that represents more than 2,000 contractor companies.
“I want my clients to be confident in the outcome they’re going to get — that the scope is applied, the budgets are lived within and the schedule is adhered to,” Cotter says. “Nobody likes surprises on their projects. It’s my job to see that things go smoothly and, when complications arise, they are dealt with swiftly, efficiently and effectively.”
