PROJECT

Baggage Handling System Replacement

Our team provided project management services for renovation of the Central and South Terminals baggage handling system and control room.

The work included modifications to airport structures to accommodate new baggage handling equipment and installation of new equipment.

We also managed construction of a four-level, 70,000-square-foot building to house 12 explosive-detection machines, 102 mobile inspection tables, a checked baggage inspection system and a checked baggage resolution area.

The project was the result of the largest Transportation Security Administration (TSA) grant awarded at that time and features the largest installation of mobile inspection table technology worldwide. This is the first LEED-certified project at the terminal, achieving Gold certification.
