Known for our nuclear quality assurance program (NQA-1), we provide facility planning, design and construction support services for the NNSA’s Pantex Plant.
Implementation of our full range of architecture and engineering services has enabled increased safety, reliability and security at this site. We have: added lightning protection systems upgrades for 76 facilities; replaced a chiller with a new central HVAC system; modified equipment and temperature control rooms; and upgraded gates, electrical systems and environmental approaches.
We provided concept and full design services for a $332 million high explosives synthesis formulation and production (HESFP) facility, which will include 98,000 square feet of hardened space for high explosives formulation process and material handling and production capability.
Using virtual reality technology, we walked HESFP stakeholders through their future facility to gather feedback on the layout and equipment arrangement during the conceptual design phase. This significantly accelerated the feedback loop between users and design. This was vital for a seamless interface with the process design and equipment.
